For CA Firms Let Down by Audit Software Before: Output You Can Sign On, Straight From Tally, and a Team That Stays

If you are reading this, there is a fair chance you have bought audit software before.

Maybe it looked good in the demonstration. Someone walked you through a tidy dashboard, the partner nodded, the licence was signed. And then September came, the articles were working late, a client's books threw up something the software hadn't seen before, and the number you called went to voicemail. The tool sat on a few laptops for the rest of the season, and the firm went back to Excel.

What Audcrix is

Audcrix is an audit intelligence platform for chartered accountants in India. In one line: everything between the books and your signature.

It works straight from Tally. It reads a client's ledgers and vouchers directly over a paired outbound channel, so no export to Excel happens first and no inbound port is opened on the client's Tally machine. It also supports Zoho Books as a books source. One synchronisation feeds everything else, and that synchronisation is itself proved: it is reconciled against Tally's own trial balance and profit and loss, and a mismatch blocks finalisation instead of flowing quietly into the figures built on it.

From there, the whole population, not a sample, runs through the work a CA does every season:

• Ledger analysis, with every ledger placed by its own group chain in the books, never guessed from its name;
• 51 accounting checks and 40 forensic checks, run across the whole population;
• Statutory audit workings against 34 Standards on Auditing and 56 provisions of the Companies Act;
• Income tax workings across 39 sections, and TDS across 43 sections, deductee by deductee, keyed to PAN;
• GST, with the returns read by tax period and matched to the books.

Output you can sign on

A figure you can't trace is a figure you have to redo. So every headline number in Audcrix opens into the ledgers, the vouchers and the group chain that produced it. When the working says a payment was made in cash above the limit, you can see the voucher. When it says a deduction was missed, you can see the payee, the section and the rate that should have applied.

That is what we mean by output you can sign on. The judgement stays yours, and so does the signature. Audcrix does the part between the books and that signature, and shows its working.

Software that gives you a number is easy to build. Software whose number you are prepared to put your name under is the whole job.

We stay with you through the season

This is the part that matters most to a firm that has been let down, so here it is plainly. Every firm that uses Audcrix gets four things.

• Onboarding and training with your own team, before each season starts.
• A named person to call or message, through the whole season.
• Fixes within the same season. When a client's books throw up something Audcrix doesn't handle, we fix it while that audit is still open, not in next year's release.
• Regular check-ins with the partner, during the season and after it, about what worked, what didn't, and what the next season needs.

We don't consider the sale the end of the relationship. The season is where the relationship starts.

If you are choosing again, the questions that separate one tool from another are the ones about evidence and about people.

• Does it read the books directly, and can it prove it read all of them?
• Can every figure be opened down to the voucher behind it?
• Does it apply Indian law, by section and year, as a CA actually applies it?
• Who, by name, will you call in the second week of September?
• What happens when a client's books break something, during the season?
